Quartzite is natural stone; quartz is engineered
Despite their similar names, quartzite and engineered quartz are different materials. Quartzite is quarried stone, while engineered quartz combines minerals with binders. Confirm the exact material being offered, its finish and the care requirements before selecting a slab.
Let the actual slab guide your design
Natural stone can include variation in color, veining, mineral deposits and surface character. Photos and small samples are useful starting points, but viewing the actual slab helps you decide how much movement you want. Slab selection matters especially for prominent islands and waterfall designs.
Marble and other natural stone options
Marble offers distinctive veining and a classic appearance. It can develop wear or etching with use, so discuss the way the surface will be used and your expectations for maintenance. Additional natural stone choices depend on current availability.
Plan fabrication around the material
Pattern direction, thickness, edge details, sink openings, support and seam placement need to be considered together. We coordinate material selection, final measurements, fabrication and installation so these choices are made before cutting begins.
Care is specific to the stone and finish
Ask for the cleaning and sealing guidance for your selected material. Use approved cleaners, protect the surface with cutting boards and trivets, and address spills promptly. A stone’s trade name alone is not enough to establish its care needs.
