Good questions. Clear answers.

Planning a kitchen or bathroom comes with plenty of questions. Start here for practical help with cabinets, countertops and your next steps.

Getting started & pricing

How much do new cabinets and countertops cost?

Your quote depends on the room size, cabinet style, countertop material, layout, cutouts, edge details and installation needs. Send rough measurements and photos so we can prepare a project-specific estimate.

Is quartz cheaper than granite?

Neither is always cheaper. Compare the actual colors and slabs you like, along with fabrication and installation, rather than judging by the material name alone.

Do you offer free estimates and design help?

Yes. Bring your ideas, photos and approximate measurements for a free estimate and cabinet design conversation. Final dimensions must be confirmed before ordering or fabrication.

Can I get a quote without visiting the showroom?

You can start with our contact form, a rough sketch and photos. Email your sketch and photos to ElegantKitchen6656@gmail.com. Seeing physical samples is helpful before finalizing your selections.

Do you work with homeowners and DIY projects?

Yes. We welcome homeowners, DIY planners, builders, designers and commercial clients. Tell us what you plan to handle yourself so we can agree on the products and services you need.

What should I measure for a kitchen or bathroom quote?

Record wall lengths, cabinet or countertop dimensions, door and window locations, and appliance details. For a vanity, include the top width and depth, sink locations and surrounding walls. Follow our Homeowner & DIY Measuring Guide for the full checklist.

Do you handle the entire remodel?

Our focus is cabinetry and countertops. Confirm the scope of removal, plumbing, electrical work, flooring and other trades before work begins so everyone knows who is responsible.

Cabinet styles & storage

What is a shaker cabinet?

A shaker-style door has a recessed center panel framed by simple rails and stiles. It works with many kitchen styles; compare actual samples to choose the profile and finish you like.

What are your cabinet boxes made of?

We offer plywood-box cabinetry with soft-close drawer slides and door hinges. Discuss the specifications and available accessories for your chosen style.

Do you have more cabinet colors than the website shows?

Yes. We carry additional colors in store and often add new selections each year. Contact us to check the finishes currently available.

Can I mix cabinet colors or add an island?

We can help you compare a contrasting island with your perimeter cabinets. An island must fit the room with suitable circulation and appliance-door clearance.

Can I replace countertops and keep my cabinets?

It may be possible if the existing cabinets are sound, level and suitable for the new surface. Have our team review their condition and the project details before committing.

Choosing & caring for countertops

What is the difference between quartz, granite and quartzite?

Quartz countertops are engineered surfaces. Granite and quartzite are natural stones with individual patterns. Compare appearance, care guidance and the actual material before choosing.

Will my countertop look exactly like the sample?

A small sample cannot show every variation in a full slab. Natural stone varies, and manufactured patterns can also vary between products or batches. Confirm the actual material and layout before fabrication.

How do I clean my new countertops?

Follow the care instructions for the exact product and finish you choose. Ask our team for the appropriate cleaner and guidance on spills, heat, sealing and everyday use.

Can I put a hot pan directly on the countertop?

Use a trivet or heat pad and follow the product’s care instructions. Do not assume any surface is immune to heat damage.

Does granite need sealing every year?

There is no single schedule for every stone. Sealing needs depend on the material, finish, use and sealer. Confirm the care plan for your selected surface.

Is marble a good choice for a busy kitchen?

Marble can show wear and is sensitive to acids. Talk with us about your cooking habits and maintenance expectations, and compare alternative surfaces before deciding.

Measurements, fabrication & installation

How long will my project take?

Timing depends on product availability, project size, site readiness and installation requirements. We will discuss the schedule after reviewing your selections and scope; please confirm dates before arranging other trades.

Do cabinets go in before countertops?

Final countertop measurements are normally taken after cabinets are installed, secured and ready for templating. Material selection and early planning can happen beforehand.

Will there be a seam in my countertop?

Seams depend on the slab size, countertop shape, vein direction, access and support. We review a seam plan for your layout; a large island is not automatically seamless.

What should I do before installation day?

Confirm the preparation checklist with our team. Clear work surfaces and access paths, secure pets, and agree on who handles removal and plumbing or electrical connections.

Can you make sink and cooktop cutouts?

We plan cutouts as part of fabrication. Provide the sink, faucet and appliance specifications early so the openings and clearances can be confirmed.

Do you fabricate and install countertops in-house?

Yes. EKB provides in-house stone fabrication and installation, with the material and scope confirmed for each project.
